Proudly offering military fertility benefits to those who serve our nation
Our ArkLaTex regional fertility center is honored to offer military fertility benefits. We contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs and help guide active-duty military, veterans and reservists in their family-building goals. Our full-service Northern Louisiana fertility center is well-versed in navigating TRICARE, and we are ready to serve those who serve our country.
Let us help you understand how your military fertility benefits work
We have a deep understanding of military fertility benefits. We have honored them since opening our private practice in 2012, under the guidance of Dr. David T. Vandermolen, MD, MS. ArkLaTex Fertility prides itself on being a full-service reproductive center, with a fellowship-trained and board certified reproductive endocrinologist serving Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
Sometimes, navigating health care benefits is daunting, but our staff knows the nuances of your TRICARE health program. We can assist you in understanding the logistics and financial coverage of your military fertility benefits. In most cases, fertility evaluation is covered, including all of the standard tests recommended for male and female patients.
- Blood draws
- Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) to detect uterine issues, patency of fallopian tubes
- Ultrasounds
- Semen analysis
- Hormone evaluation
- Sperm function tests
There are several fertility treatment procedures that TRICARE generally does not cover. However, exceptions may exist if you were injured on active duty.
- Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
- In vitro fertilization (IVF)
- Sperm and egg retrieval
- Sperm and egg cryopreservation
- Embryo cryopreservation
How do I use my military fertility benefits?
The first step in using military fertility benefits is to reach out to your primary care manager. It is important for those with TRICARE benefits to receive authorization before making an appointment with our Northern Louisiana fertility center. This is because we are a specialty care clinic, not a primary care provider.
Once you have received your authorization, our office will be happy to set up an appointment. Authorizations do expire, so the sooner you can reach out to us, the better. During your initial appointment, we will learn about your health history and complete an evaluation to better understand the overall health of your reproductive organs. For those needing access to fertility medication, we provide patients with information about the ReUnite Assist program, which can provide discounts for eligible patients.
If you need follow-up appointments, we will keep your convenience front and center, as we help military members across a wide geographic area. ArkLaTex Fertility proudly treats Northern Louisiana patients from surrounding areas, such as Shreveport-Bossier, as well as our neighbors in South Arkansas, East Texas and beyond.
It is our honor to be at the service of those who serve our country. If you want more information about how you can use your military fertility benefits at our Northern Louisiana fertility center, contact us today. We look forward to serving those who serve our nation.
