Affording fertility care to grow your family
At our Northern Louisiana fertility center, David T. Vandermolen, MD, MS, knows that affording fertility care can feel overwhelming. For couples and individuals struggling to conceive, financial concerns can add another layer of stress. The appointments, medications and procedures can all add up and make a significant dent in your finances.
We want to make sure our patients have options for managing fertility treatment costs, so our skilled finance team provides detailed information about fertility financing and medication discounts.
Recognizing how your medical insurance coverage works
If you break your arm or have a heart attack, you seek medical care, and your insurance pays for the treatment, minus any co-pay or deductible. Unfortunately, insurance companies don’t always view infertility treatment coverage in the same way.
Many insurance companies will not cover fertility treatment procedures. However, they may cover diagnostic procedures, such as blood work, ultrasound examinations, semen analysis or other fertility testing. In some cases, insurance may cover medications. Before you begin any treatment plan, our billing coordinator will review your benefits coverage in detail.
Affording fertility care with fertility treatment financing
Affording fertility care is an important aspect of the journey to parenthood. Dr. Vandermolen has partnered with several companies to offer financing options, so that patients can manage their fertility treatment costs.
We will provide a detailed breakdown of your estimated treatment and medication costs. For those without insurance or who have limited coverage, WINFertility Treatment Program, LendingClub Patient Solutions and Smart Care enable patients to select a solution that fits within their budgetary constraints.
Fertility medication discount programs may lower fertility treatment costs
Another way to ease the burden of fertility treatment costs is through medication discount programs. The average fertility medication costs for ovarian stimulation and IVF cycles can range from $2,000 to $5,000. Our staff will provide information on discount programs that may offer the most optimal savings possible to fit your budget.
Although companies such as GoodRx and SingleCare work well for routine prescriptions, we suggest more specialized options for fertility medications.
